Benefit Social for Stephanie Sullivan's Son, Thursday, August 16, at Saint Arnold Brewery, Houston

 

One of our own is in need of help.  Most of the Landnews readers know Stephanie Sullivan through her work with the HAPL.  She is an amazing fundraiser for teachers and students in HAPL’s “Tribute to Education” she has raised over $76,000 over the years.  She has chaired several committees and served on HAPL’s Board of Directors.
                Stephanie Sullivan’s son is in a healthcare crisis of monumental proportions.  Kerry Marcantel is in need of a kidney transplant and has no insurance.  Stephanie has been meeting with his doctors and paying all his expenses out of her pocket.  The battery of diagnostic tests has run about $3,400 so far and she needs $30,000 for a surgery to prepare him for dialysis.  The annual cost of dialysis is about $80,000.  Once Kerry is stabilized with the dialysis treatment his prognoses is positive and a transplant is the next step.  Stephanie has been advised that without insurance the costs of a transplant will range from $150,000 - $180,000 for the recipient and they may have to pay the same for the donor surgery.  Anti rejection medication after a transplant runs $2,400 - $3,600 per month for the rest of his life after a transplant. 
                You can imagine how this situation can drain all of your savings and then some.  As a parent, you would do anything to find a way to get the medical services necessary.  Stephanie is checking into all possible avenues for financial assistance but these things take time and Kerry needs treatment immediately as his kidney function is 15-20% of normal.
                Please join me in helping to lighten Stephanie’s financial burden in this time of need.   An account has been set up at Frost Bank to collect funds for the benefit of Kerry Marcantel.   Stephanie Sullivan, as Trustee will be the only party with access to this account and will use the funds collected for Kerry’s medical bills.  This contribution is not tax deductible. 

 

A Benefit Social Fundraising Event for Stephanie Sullivan's son, Kerry Marcantel, Jr., will be held on Thursday, August 16, at St. Arnold Brewery just north of downtown Houston from 6-8 PM. 

Please plan to attend and support this fundraising event for Kerry, who is in need of a kidney transplant and has no insurance. The event will be at the iPub, a special back bar area at the Saint Arnold Brewery (2000 Lyons, Houston, TX 77020), http://www.saintarnold.com/ . The minimum donation to the event is $50.00 which includes Saint Arnold beers, root beer and food.
