Job Summary:

Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas Industry working exploration and development projects.  Working knowledge of Operating Agreements, Farmout Agreements, Exploration Agreements, Trade Agreement, as well as various negotiable contracts used in the industry.    

 

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The broad scope of responsibilities will include the facilitation of all land-related activity within a company Business Unit.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong knowledge and application of land and negotiating principles, theories and concepts; and have a wide understanding of how Land interacts, advises and collaborates with geoscience, engineering, operations, legal, regulatory and other professional groups.
  • Perform due diligence relating to acquisitions and divestitures, as well as title curative work.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities.
  • Obtain the necessary title examination, title curative and issuing final title approval and release of wells for drilling.
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office Suite, ARCMAP/GIS knowledge helpful.

 

 Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of in-house, broad based experience working exploration and development projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Business or a related field or Law Degree (J.D.) from an accredited Law school 
  • Leadership
  • Experience in working with field brokers conducting leasing activities is needed.  Must be able to negotiate oil and gas leases and direct field landmen. Must be able to direct and mentor entry level in house landmen.  
  • Technical understanding of oil and gas lease forms, Pooling/Unitization Agreements, Operating Agreements, Farmout Agreements and various negotiable contracts typically used in exploration activities a must. Must be able to negotiate and prepare various letter agreements and formal agreements needed for drilling activities.
  • Outstanding team player with strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary group to achieve project related goals.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Analyze and summarize complex leasehold positions.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize projects and to effectively manage time in order to meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Appalachia Basin is beneficial.
