How to Register:
Registration and registration fees must be made online.  Please click on the yellow link above to regsiter and pay online.  To register and pay for more than one person, click on the yellow registration link above and register the first person and then follow the instructions at the bottom of the page to register additional parties.  When you've registered all of the parties you want, select online payment.  The system will calculate the amount due (number of persons registered x $67).  You will recieve an email confirmation soon thereafter.  If you have any questions or problems with the registration process, please contact Diane Snyder at hapl@hapl.org or 713 622-6868.

Mike Shellman is president of MCA Petroleum Corporation actively engaged in oil and natural gas production management, exploration and property acquisition along the Texas Gulf Coast. He has over 35 years of experience in all facets of oil and natural gas drilling and completion operations and has written articles of technical relevance for World Oil Magazine, for the South

Texas Geological Society and Oil and Gas World Magazine.


He attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and the South Texas Geological Society. Mike worked for Boots and Coots, Inc. in Houston, Texas from 1993 to 1997 and was involved in numerous oil well fires and blowout interventions around the world.

 

He has spoken to many organizations and events about the history of the oil well firefighting including recently the American Association of Petroleum Landmen National Convention in San Diego, California and the North Dakota Petroleum Counsel Annual Meeting in Bismarck. He has helped to produce television documentaries about the subject for the Discovery and History Channels. Mike has also acted in an advisory capacity to the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum in Midland, the  Harry Ransom Research Institute at the University of Texas, Austin and the George H. Bush

Presidential Library at Texas A&M University in Bryan.

Mike resides in San Marcos, Texas.
