This course is a concentrated review of oil and gas law for the advanced practitioner. It will focus on important aspects of oil and gas today, including recent case law developments, joint operating agreements, oil and gas leases, trade secrets in the oil and gas business, contractual remedies in oil and gas agreements, natural gas purchase contracts, an update on and compliance strategies for FERC and CFTC anti-market manipulation regulations, current issues in oil and gas finance, bankruptcy, catastrophic events, environmental considerations, royalties and royalty disputes, the future of the petroleum industry under global warming, ethics, insurance and indemnity issues, purchase and sale of oil and gas properties, working interest owner and operator disputes, and surface damages. Course participants will receive practical information they can put to immediate use upon returning to the office on Monday.
