This popular event consists of one and a half days of excellent and topical presentations plus a welcoming icebreaker Wednesday evening at Joey’s hosted by the AAPL, Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen, and others, an AAPL/LAPL hosted reception on Thursday following the presentations, an optional Prayer Breakfast on Friday morning and an optional lunch and presentation on Friday co-sponsored by AAPL & LAPL.
This year’s institute is hosted by the Lafayette Association of Professional Landmen and is chaired by Keith Hebert. Topics and presentations planned for this year include an update on recent Louisiana legislation, discussion of recent legislation relating to legacy lawsuits, discussion of site restoration obligations after the Corbell and Castex cases, Business Ethics 101, History of Louisiana surveying, Production handling agreements, Drilling contracts and what you don’t know can hurt you, a look at the federal and state relationship in the Gulf of Mexico, the new 2005 COPAS accounting procedure, and LADNR update.
