AAPL 2007 Winter Land Institute


The American Association of Professional Landmen invites you to attend its 2007 Winter Land Institute to be held at the Hyatt Regency Houston Hotel, 1200 Louisiana Street, Houston, Texas 77002. This full day program is designed for all energy professionals with any involvement in exploration and producing operations and AAPL extends a special invitation to geologists, engineers, and landmen.

Mark K. Boling, Southwestern Energy Company, will present the morning session. Mark will discuss the various types of exploration ventures used today and review some of the basic considerations that go into documenting the terms of the deal. Included will be a look at the agreements and contracts used in these trades.

A buffet luncheon at the Hyatt will be provided for all attendees after the morning session.

In the afternoon, Pete Huddleston, Huddleston & Co., Inc. will discuss various aspects of petroleum property and management, including a review of at the economics of various Texas Railroad Commission districts.

Both presenters bring years of experience to the forum and provide an opportunity to learn more about the dynamics of our business.

and General Counsel of Southwestern Energy Company.  Prior to joining Southwestern in January of
2002, he was in private practice in
Houston, Texas, specializing in oil and
gas transactional work.  Mr. Boling was a
partner with the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. where he practiced
in the firm’s Oil & Gas/Real Estate Section from 1982 to 1993.  He is a member of the American (Environment,
Energy and Resources and Business Law Sections),
Arkansas (Natural Resources Law
Section) and
Texas (Oil, Gas & Mineral
Law and Corporate Counsel Sections) Bar Associations.  Mr. Boling holds a Juris Doctorate degree
from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology
from
DePauw University.






Pete Huddleston worked as a consulting
petroleum engineer before founding Huddleston & Co., Inc. in 1967 and
currently serves as chairman. Huddleston & Co provides petroleum
engineering consulting services for more than 400 oil and gas companies, gas
transmission companies, and banks and other financial institutions. The firm’s
database includes more than 100,000 oil and gas properties located in the
United States and Canada. Mr. Huddleston has a
degree in petroleum engineering from
Texas A&M University.
