The American Association of Professional Landmen invites you to attend the 2007 Rockies Land Institute to be held on Monday September 17, 2007. This year we move to Albuquerque and the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town, 800 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87104, phone 505-222-8760.
Please join us in the Franciscan Room at the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town for a full day of excellent presentations on important oil and gas topics. The program includes a continental breakfast and buffet lunch. We complete the day with a hosted reception in the Fireplace Room and South Portal. The New Mexico state lease sale and NMLA-Federal Abstract Company annual golf event will be held on Tuesday, September, 18 in Santa Fe.
Topics and presentations planned for this year include: a discussion of eminent domain and condemnation issues; a review of fractional interests and the Duhig Rule; a look at our energy needs thru the 21st century; an update on the business climate in New Mexico; a presentation of geologic tools for the landman; a review of the New Mexico Surface Owners Protection Act and its impact on oil and gas operations; and an AAPL update and ethics discussion. Knute Lee, AAPL Past President (as of the date of the institute) will lead the ethics discussion.
The day kicks off with registration and continental breakfast from 8:00 – 8:30 AM with presentations beginning at 8:30 AM. The program concludes with the reception at about 5:00 PM.
