• Description:

  Monument Land Resources, LLC, a leader in land services in East Texas and surrounding areas, is seeking a Title Landman to join our team. This candidate must possess exceptional attention to detail, and a desire to apply skills fundamental to researching the ownership of minerals.

  This is an independent contractor position. Daily rate will be determined based on experience and qualifications during the interview process.

  Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research county records to determine surface and mineral ownership as well as royalty interest, working interest, and leasehold
  • Review and cure title defects brought forth within title opinions or personal title examination
  • Review, edit, and negotiate land related documents such as oil and gas leases, amendments, assignments, joint operating agreements, unit declarations, title curative documents
  • Due diligence processes for mineral acquisition
  • Preparation of title reports

  Skills:

  • Knowledge of oil and gas leases, leasehold, and working interest
  • Ability to analyze a high volume of transactions while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Superior attention to detail, exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with various mineral interests and their effect on title
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment to meet company and client goals
  • Ability to self-start, work with minimum supervision
  • High personal and professional moral code.

  Education and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as title Landman
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • 2+ years of Microsoft Outlook and Windows Suite experience
